The importance of going to Mass

The attending Holy Mass benefits:

1. God the Father sends His Beloved Son down from Heaven for your salvation.
2. The Holy Spirit changes – bread and wine into the true Body and Blood of Christ for you.
3. The Son of God comes down from Heaven and conceals Himself under the form of the Sacred Host for your sake.
4. He even abases Himself to such an extent as to be present in the minutest particle of the Host.
5. He renews the saving Mystery of the Incarnation for your salvation.
6. He is born anew into the world in a true mystic manner for your salvation every time Holy Mass is celebrated.
7. He performs upon, the Altar the same acts of Worship He performed when on earth for your salvation.
8. He renews His bitter Passion in order that you may participate in It, for your salvation.
9. He mystically renews His death and sacrifices His precious life for your salvation.
10. He sheds His Blood in a mystic manner and offers it to the Divine Majesty for you.
11. With His Precious Blood, He sprinkles your soul and purifies it from every stain of sin.
12. Christ offers Himself for you as a true burnt-offering and renders to the Godhead the supreme honour – Its due.
13. By offering this Act of Worship to God, you are making reparation for your failures to give Him the Glory He deserves.
14. For you, Christ offers Himself as a Sacrifice of Praise, thus atoning for your omissions in praising His Holy Name.
15. By offering this Oblation with Christ, you are giving Him greater praise than the Angels do.
16. Christ offers Himself for you as a perfect Sacrifice of Thanksgiving, making compensation for all the failures on your part to offer thanks.
17. By offering Christ’s act of Thanksgiving to God, you are making ample acknowledgement of all the gifts and benefits He has bestowed on you.
18. Christ offers Himself for you as the all-powerful Victim, reconciling you to God Whom you have offended by sin.
19. He pardons all your venial sins provided you are firmly resolved to avoid them.
20. You also make reparation for your many sins of omission, when you left undone the good you could have done but did not do.
21. He remove many of the imperfections connected with your good deeds, such as vanity.
22. He forgives you many of those sins, whether forgotten or unknown, which you have never mentioned in Confession.
23. He offers Himself as a Victim to make satisfaction for a part at least6f your debts and transgressions.
24. Each time you assist at Mass, you can make more reparation for your sins than you can by the most severe act of penance.
25. At Mass, Christ credits you with a portion of His merits, which you may offer to God the Father in reparation for your sins.
26. Christ offers Himself in the Mass on your behalf as the most efficacious peace-offering as earnestly as He interceded for His enemies on the Cross.
27. His Precious Blood pleads for you on the Altar in words as countless as the drops of Blood that issued from His veins during His Passion.
28. Each of the adorable wounds His Body suffered is a mouth crying aloud for mercy for you.
29. By virtue of the reparation made by this Victim, the petitions offered during Mass will be granted far sooner than those offered at other times.
30. You can never pray so effectively at other times as you can whilst attending Mass.
31. This is because Christ unites your prayers with His own and offers them to our Heavenly Father.
32. He also acquaints the Father with your needs and the dangers to which ‘you are exposed, and makes your’ eternal salvation His particular concern.
33. The Angels also, who are present at Mass, plead for you and present your poor prayers before the Throne of God.
34. The Priest offers the Mass on your behalf, and by virtue of the offering, the evil enemy will not be allowed to approach you.
35. He offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to God Almighty for you and for your everlasting salvation.
36. When you assist devoutly at Mass, you are yourself a Priest in spirit, empowered by Christ to offer the Mass for yourself and others.
37. By offering this Holy Sacrifice, you are presenting the most acceptable of all Gifts to the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
38. In fact, at. Mass you are offering the most precious of all Gifts that is greater in value than all things in Heaven and on earth put together.
39. The Gift you offer at Mass is precious indeed. It is none other than God Himself.
40. By this Sacrifice, you are honouring God as He alone is worthy to be honoured.
41. By this sacrifice you give infinite satisfaction to the Blessed Trinity.
42. You may present this glorious Oblation as your’ own Gift, for Christ Himself gave it to you.
43. When you assist at Mass correctly you are performing an act of highest worship.
44. By assisting at Mass, you are paying the most profound reverence, the most loyal homage, to the Sacred Humanity of Our Lord.
45. It is the very best means of venerating Christ’s Passion and of obtaining a share in the fruits of that Passion.
46. It is also the beat means of venerating the Holy Mother of God and increasing Her joy.
47. By assisting at Mass, you can give greater honour to the Angels and Saints than by reciting many prayers.
48. By assisting at Mass devoutly, you can also enrich your own soul, more than by any other means whatsoever.
49. Because, by doing this, you are performing a good work of the highest possible value.
50. It is the most outstanding exercise of pure Faith which will receive a great reward.
51. When you bow down before the Sacred Host and the Precious Blood, you are in fact performing a supreme Act of Adoration.
52. For each time you gaze reverently upon the Sacred Host, you store up a recompense in Heaven.
53. Each time you beat your breast with compunction, some of your sins are forgiven.
54. If you assist at Mass in mortal sin, God offers you the Grace of conversion.
55. If you assist at Mass in the state of grace, God gives you an increase of Sanctifying Grace.
56. In Holy Communion at Mass, you actually receive the Flesh of Christ to eat and His Precious Blood to drink.
57. At Mass, you are privileged to behold Christ with your own eyes hidden under the Sacramental Veil, and to be beheld by Him.
58. You receive the Priest’s Blessing, which is confirmed by Christ in Heaven.
59. Because of your constancy in attending Mass you will obtain corporal and spiritual Blessings.
60. Moreover, you will be preserved from many misfortunes that would otherwise happen to you.
61. You will also be strengthened against temptations that would otherwise have overcome you would otherwise have overcome you.
62. Frequent assistance at Mass will obtain for you the Grace of a Holy Death.
63. Your love for the Mass that you have demonstrated will secure for you the special assistance of the Angels and Saints on your deathbed.
64. The remembrance of the Masses you have assisted at in your lifetime will be a sweet solace for you at the hour of death and will inspire you with confidence in the Divine Mercy.
65. These frequent Masses will not be forgotten when you stand before the strict Judge; they will incline Him to temper justice with mercy.
66. You need not fear a long and terrible time in Purgatory, when, to a great extent, you have atoned for your sins by frequent assistance at Mass.
67. One Mass devoutly assisted at will domoretb1essen the pains of Purgatory than any act of penance, however difficult it is to perform.
68. One Mass assisted at in your lifetime will be of greater benefit to you than many Requiem Masses celebrated for you after your death.
69. Frequent assistance at Mass will win for you a high place in Heaven which will be yours for all eternity.
70. Your happiness in Heaven, moreover, will be increased by every Mass you assist at on earth.
71. No prayers offered for your relatives or friends are as efficacious as a single Mass assisted at and offered on their behalf.
72. You can amply recompense all you benefactors by assisting at Mass for their intention.
73. The best help, the greatest consolation you can offer to the afflicted, the sick; the dying, is to assist at Mass on their behalf.
74. By this same means, you can even obtain for sinners the Grace of conversion.
75. You can also earn saving and salutary Graces for all faithful Christians.
76. Moreover, you can procure abundant refreshment for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
77. If it is not your power to have a Mass celebrated for your departed friends or relatives, devout assistance at the Holy Sacrifice can release them form their tormenting flames.
